Mandate

CampusNB serves as a participatory council, which is not a legal entity and has no legislative or regulatory authority. Its stakeholders work cooperatively for the benefit of learners to ensure smooth inter-institutional transitions and effective transferability of courses and/or programs, and the appropriate and effective use of prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) to support learners in pursuit of educational and employment opportunities.

Principle

The members are responsible for CampusNB’s activities, image and assets. They have the duty to manage CampusNB honestly, in good faith, and in the best interest of its stakeholders, while providing leadership and accountability in carrying out its mandate.

Governance

Operations Committee (OC)

The operations committee carries out activities on behalf of the CampusNB council for improvement and enlargement of educational opportunities for learners. The OC is led by a Chair and Vice-Chair elected every two years by the members of the OC. The Chair and Vice-Chair shall serve on the council as ex-officio (non-voting) members.

The OC Responsibilities

  • Undertake the credit transfer related activities from the CampusNB annual work plan, delegated by the Council
  • Facilitate the organizational part of any research undertaken on behalf of the Council
  • Work with the members of the council to develop recommendations and advice regarding CampusNB initiatives to support the council in its decision-making
  • Provide members to lead any ad hoc or sub committees that are formed as well as members to participate on the Symposium Planning Committee
  • Prepare and submit the annual data for the Credit Transfer Portal and the Credit Transfer statistical report for their respective institutions
  • Ensure that the data is kept up to par and accurate on the portal
  • Partake in preparing the CampusNB annual report, and work plan for the forthcoming fiscal.

CampusNB Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) Group

The CampusNB PLAR Group carries out activities on behalf of the CATNB council for improvement and enlargement of educational and labour mobility via the recognition of prior learning (RPL). It also engages, on behalf of the Council, in promoting and facilitating the delivery of PLAR practices in New Brunswick through increased awareness, collaboration, and common terminology and tools. The PLAR Group is led by a Chair and Vice-Chair elected every two years by the members of the PLAR Group. The Chair and Vice-Chair shall serve on the council as ex-officio (non-voting) members.

CampusNB PLAR Group Responsibilities

  • Recommend and develop proposed policies, procedures and guidelines to promote the provincial coordination of PLAR activities
  • Encourage the development and refinement of PLAR policies and practices
  • Provide guidance in educating and informing New Brunswickers about PLAR
  • Carry out and / or oversee outsourced PLAR related projects
